About Deborah Stanley

Deborah Stanley Hello! Thank you for taking time to inquire about my journey as an artist. I am a self-taught polymer clay artist and photographer currently living and creating in Louisville, Kentucky. I was born in Los Angeles, California, but I lived most of my life in suburban Washington, DC and Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to Louisville in 2009. My career as an artist began at my kitchen table with a small amount of polymer clay and an idea for a fun and creative project for my young son. However, I discovered an immediate connection with the variety of colors and versatility of polymer clay and began what has become a fifteen year journey of independent study and creative exploration which continues today.

My main body of work consists of a wide and ever growing variety of colorful abstract and abstract expressionist designs. I am a juried member of the Louisville Artisans Guild since 2011 and a member of the Louisville Visual Art Association (LVAA) since 2014. My work has been displayed and featured in various art galleries and exhibitions in the Louisville area such as Gallery 104 in LaGrange, KY (the 2014 Red Show, juried participant), Kaviar Forge and Gallery (2014 The Figure Revealed and 2013 Crafts of Kentucky Exhibition, juried participant), 2013 JCC Patio Gallery Presents Louisville Artisans Guild (juried participant), the 2012 and 2013 Brown-Foreman Annual Pride Fair, The KORE Gallery (former partner), 2012 September Art Fair Mellwood Art Center, juried participant, Louisville Artisans Guild Annual Art Exhibit, and The Women's Club of Louisville (2012 Annual No-Jury Art Show).

I hope you enjoy venturing through my webpage and welcome your thoughts and comments. Have a great day!
