“Melanin Queen” is a celebration of the beauty and strength of women of color. Her head cannot be bowed and her spirit cannot be broken. She is a proud leader of her family and her community. History is filled with many stories documenting the strength and resilience of women of color. However dramatic the adventures and heroic the stories may be, our Queen and the women of color that she represents only want what all women want - a place where their families can live in peace and their children can grow and follow their dreams.
